Mammootty's 'Pokkiri Raja'

After the super success of AMMA's magnum opus 'Twenty:20', ace scriptwriters Sibi K Thomas -Uday Krissna will once again team up with the megastar Mammootty for the film titled 'Pokkiri Raja'.

Mammootty will don the title role in this movie which will be the debut venture of young director Vysakh.

The movie which will be produced by Tomichan Mulakupadom in the banner of Mulakupadom Films will also have Jassie Gift making a comeback to Malayalam cinema ,after a couple of years. The movie will feature four songs from Jassie.

Vysakh, who has been the assistant to hit director Johnny Antony, was also the associate of ‘Twenty:20’.

Aashirwadh with big projects

The most famous banner of Mollywood, Aashirwad films
maintained by Lal's Man Friday Antony Perumbavoor, has gotplenty of new projects under its kit.

The production house which has already started a new distribution firm in the title Max Lab entertainments, is presently focusing on the making of the new Lal film 'Saagar Elias Jackey,reloaded'.

Directed by young cinematographer Amal Neerad, who made a mark with his debut film 'Big B', the shooting for the songs of the movie is presently on at Kashmir and Goa.

Aashirwad will start its next 'Hello Maayavi' featuring Mammootty and Mohanlal by the mid of 2009. The other important projects in the pipeline are those with directors Renjith, Joshy , Sathyan Anthikkad and Roshan Andrews.

Meera Jasmine presented the Srividya award

Popular South Indian actress Meera Jasmine was presented the first Srividya award for the best actress in Malayalam films by minister N.K.Premachandran at a function in Thiruvanthapuram on the second death anniversary (October 19) of actress Srividya.
Meera Jasmine got this award for her performance in the Mammootty starrer Ore Kadal, directed by Shyamaprasad. Earlier, she also won the Filmfare awards (2008) for her performance in the same movie which examines the extra-martial relationship between an intellectual economist and a housewife. K.B. Ganesh Kumar M.L.A, popular Malayalam actor and the chairman of the MLV Srividya Charitable Society, who was with Srividya during her last moments, said that Srividya was a person who helped many without expecting any publicity or reward.

Indrajith geared for the new Nayakan

Indrajith's upcoming movie Nayakan will be directed by Lijo Pellisseri, son of late actor Jose Pellisseri. This is Lijo's first film as director; before this, he was working in the field of ad filmmaking. Nayakan will have Dhanya of Thalappavu fame as the female lead; Thilakan, Jagathy, Siddhique and Raghu appear in other important roles. The shooting will start by December and the locations are Kochi, Ottappalam and Malaysia. Indrajith, son of late actor Sukumaran and brother of Prithviraj, debuted with Oomappenninu Uriyadappayyan. He was praised for his villain's role in the hit film Meesamadhavan and several hit films followed. His latest release was Minnaminnikkoottam.
